The Nuclear Regulatory Commission proposed a new framework, back in February, to regulate fusion machines under the By-product Material Framework, underscoring the lower safety risks of fusion devices. The regulatory framework with focus on the radioactive materials used by these machines, such as tritium, alongside other aspects such as waste management.
