How long have you worked at RACE?

I joined RACE on December 21st, 2020. My background is mainly in Mechatronics and Embedded Systems. I have worked with three companies before, one which was in the UK making bomb disposal robots.

How did you find out about the role?

I saw it advertised on LinkedIn and it looked really interesting, so I applied.

What’s your role within the team?

I’m a Control Systems Engineer and I’m involved in robot programming. It’s all about what we want the robot to do. We want to build a construction that is automated, so we have to write the code or the software for the machine to do certain tasks. I help programme these tasks.

You’ve only been at RACE for a short while, but what is it about the role that you have enjoyed most so far?

I’ve enjoyed the remote working.  It’s been a new experience for me and it’s been really good so far not having to waste time travelling back and forth to work. The job itself is all about logical processes and we participate in trying to resolve different kinds of issues. This requires teamwork so you’re not alone, which is nice.

You joined during these unusual times, how has that been?

To be honest it’s not that different for me because I was also working from home in my previous job. I  enjoy to work from home,  although it’s the nature of the job that sometimes you are required  on site when you have things to test.
