UKAEA is pleased to announce that the NNUF Successor has opened the first call for applications to the NNUF facilities. Deadline for applications is the 3st August 2025.

Located at Culham Campus near Oxford, the Materials Research Facility (MRF) enables industrial and academic researchers to analyse the effects of irradiation on materials. We offer affordable, convenient access for users from fission, fusion and other research programmes - bridging the gap between university and nuclear licensed site laboratories.

As an NNUF facility, you can use the MRF for:

  • Sample preparation

  • Microstructural analysis

  • Mechanical testing

  • Thermo-physical characterisation
