UKAEA's Outreach Team is excited to relaunch our mobile planetarium, the sundome, for Oxfordshire primary schools.
The sundome can accommodate approximately 30 primary-aged pupils at a time and offers an immersive learning experience centred on fusion energy and the work we do at UKAEA. During the session, pupils will watch two short films narrated by UKAEA staff, along with taking part in an interactive activity between screenings.
We will begin accepting bookings in September. If you would like to be among the first to hear when bookings open and receive other outreach updates, please sign up to our schools mailing list.
🗓️ Tuesday 1st - Wednesday 2nd December 2026
📍 West Retford Hotel - Retford, Notts
Building on the success of our eight-day Fusion Industry School, we have developed a condensed two-day Fusion Crash Course. This program is specifically designed for managers and leaders who want to grasp the fundamentals of fusion energy and understand the unique opportunities and challenges within this emerging industry.
Topics will include fusion science and engineering applications, as well as broader commercialisation and the wider sector landscape. The aim is to provide enough technical and sector specific knowledge to frame conversations around financing, strategy, project management and business development.
We’re excited to announce our Fusion Pathways event, exploring options beyond undergraduate studies! This two-day networking and engagement event, taking place 2–3 December, welcomes students interested in delivering fusion energy. Tickets are very limited, so early booking is recommended – don’t miss your chance to find out what your pathway to fusion could be.
📍Location: Culham Campus, Oxfordshire
🎫Format: In-person only

The 1st Codes and Standards Development and Innovation for Fusion Energy (CS-DIFE) workshop brings together experts across industry, academia, standards organisations, and regulatory bodies. It aims to accelerate the development of fusion-specific codes, standards and engineering assurance frameworks required to support future fusion power plants.
The event will open with five invited presentations from subject matter experts to provide the necessary background on the current landscape. The presentations are followed by a networking lunch and an afternoon filled with breakout sessions addressing aspects across the fusion pipeline.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a clearer understanding of the science behind fusion and where your own journey into future energy could begin.
Home of the Fusion Power Centre for Doctoral Training and the Fusion Industry School, University of York has received funding from UKAEA's Fusion Opportunities in Skills, Training, Education & Research (FOSTER) programme to significantly update its established MSc in Fusion Energy Science and Technologies course.
Key things you'll learn:
What fusion energy is and why researchers believe it could reshape the future of global energy systems
The conditions needed for fusion reactions to happen
The technologies designed to make fusion reactors possible
What is needed to support the development of fusion power systems
The expanding fusion industry, emerging STEM careers, and pathways for those interested in the future of clean power
The University of York has launched an open online course to introduce fusion energy. The next course runs from 23 November - 11 December and is aimed at:
Post-16 and undergraduate students who have an interest in finding out more about current fusion research and the developing technologies.
Those who already work in a STEM area and are considering a career change towards fusion.
People with some knowledge of physics/maths who want to extend their understanding of the developing fusion industry.
The FREE online course lasts three weeks and requires six hours per week.
