The day will also include discussions about the skills needed by apprentices across the fusion sector, and opportunities which will be arising across the country in the next few years.

This free event will be at Lancashire Energy HQ Blackpool & The Fylde College on Friday, 13 March, and includes lunch and plenty of time for networking!

Over the last two years UKAEA has established a successful series of conferences and workshops designed to upskill science teachers across the country to be able to include fusion in their classroom sessions.

Our next workshop focuses on robotics and is aimed at T-Level educators in Science and Engineering.

Robotics is not just a technology for the future, it is a technology for the now, and attendees will hear about RAICo – including how robotics and AI feed into fusion and nuclear fission – and the Cumbria Robotics and Operational Skills Centre (CROSS), a new project bringing robotics into a wider range of apprenticeships.

🎟️ New date now live!

Our Open Evenings offer you a unique opportunity to see in-person some of the amazing work we are doing to develop sustainable fusion energy.

You will receive an introductory talk covering the basics of fusion energy, followed by tours of the world’s largest fusion experiment; the world record breaking Joint European Torus (JET) and our Materials Research Facility (MRF). These tours will be led by engineers, scientists and technicians, who are currently working across Culham campus.

Culham Campus Open Evening - April

🎟️ Registration for the course is now live!

We’re excited to announce the launch of our revised Tritium Training Course this April, now expanded into a comprehensive 2-day format to provide deeper insights and practical knowledge for professionals working in fusion energy, with an exclusive visit to our operational tritium facility.

This enhanced course is designed to give participants a strong foundation in tritium science and safety, with advanced modules covering its interaction with materials, facility operations, and lifecycle management.

Tritium Training Course

This event aims to bring together junior and scientific fusion project leaders, plasma physicists, including theoreticians and experimentalists, and experts in the field of plasma control systems, data management including data acquisition and analysis, and remote experiments in fusion research.

Registering for this event brings you the opportunity to sign up for the social programme. This allows you to partake in a welcome drinks reception, a walking tour of Oxford, a visit to the Silverstone museum and the final night conference dinner.

This event takes place at Rhodes House in Oxford and runs from the 18th May to the 22nd May.
