Since 2022, the Fusion Industry Programme (FIP) has worked to accelerate the growth of the UK’s fusion energy sector. Through its Challenge Scheme, FIP has successfully engaged the private sector to tackle the technical challenges of fusion energy development, on themes of digital, hydrogen isotopes, manufacturing, materials, heating & cooling, lithium, pulsed power, and resilient sensing technologies.

The first tranche of the programme, which ran until March 2025, has led to significant achievements that we welcome you to come and see at the Fusion Industry Programme Showcase at the Culham Campus on the 7th May. To date, 36 suppliers have completed projects with the FIP Challenge Scheme, making huge strides in overcoming some of the sector's toughest challenges.

This exciting day will bring together suppliers, UKAEA staff, and key industry stakeholders. The schedule includes:

  • Interactive supplier stands with technology demonstrations

  • Deep-dive presentations from selected suppliers, providing deeper insight into their work and its impact on the fusion energy sector

  • Opportunities to network and explore future collaborations over a complimentary lunch.

The showcase will be held across the first and second floors of the C7 building, with a networking lunch provided.
